Packing Clothing to Keep Everything Accessible when Moving
Packing clothing would be one of the easiest jobs to perform while moving if a person does not own that much clothing. However, the more clothing a person owns, the harder this job gets because of the sheer space that larger boxes take up. However, there are some tips, even for people with vast wardrobes can follow, that will make this experience easier.
The first tip in packing clothing is to separate each type of the wardrobe into two categories, items that are hung up and items that are folded. When transporting items that need to be hung up like suits, dresses, and pants, it is important to get the right kind of boxing. Some clothing box sets come with rods for hangers and these should be purchased to avoid damaging clothing.
When packing clothing that merely needs to be folded, place these items in a mid to large sized box depending on the size of the clothes and the amount of wardrobe someone owns. Clearly label these boxes as to distinguish whether they are clothes to be hung up or refolded and put away. This will aid a person to knowing where all their clothing is during a move.
Another tip to packing clothing is make sure that no items are left in bureaus and dressers because they will add a considerable amount of weight to these items. This can be extremely hard on someone's back who has to move that piece of furniture. Make sure that each piece of someone's wardrobe is packed away correctly in boxes before a move.
Packing clothing is a relatively easy job because unless the clothes are damaged, they can be washed and ironed after a move to make them look like new. Make sure that all items that need to be hung are hung in the correct type of box and other clothes are folded in theirs. Remove all clothing from a closet, bureau, or dresser to lighten the load of these items and to ensure that nothing is forgotten.
